The only real reason why someone would want to have a dedicated IP would be to use their own SSL certificate and to be able to use anonymous FTP.

There are a few smaller side effects, an example of one of them would be that if someone which is on the same IP address and spams a search engine; it would get BOTH of your sites banned.
